Julia Ntombikayise Hope is the Founder and Managing Director of Mzansisearch.Com. She has a Master of Science Degree (M.Sc.) in Telecommunications, obtained from the Moscow Technical University of Communications and information Technology.She has extensive experience at operational, regulatory and policy levels in the Telecommunications and Broadcasting fields, which adds value to Mzansisearch.Com and its clients.
She has worked in the telecommunication industry in South Africa for over nineteen years,initially at the Department of Post and Telecommunications in Pretoria as the first black microwave engineer, BOP Broadcasting Corporation as Senior Manager Signal Distribution,Sentech as Senior Manager Satellite Facilities and served as a Councillor of the communication regulator Independent Communications Authority of South Africa(ICASA)from 2000 to 2004.
While at ICASA she served as the chairperson of ICASA’s Technical Policy Committee (TPC), Standard Liaison Committee (SLC) and TRASA Committee (Telecommunications Regulators Association of Southern Africa). She also served on the ICASA panel for numerous hearings and processes on telecommunications and broadcasting regulatory and licensing matters. In 2003 she served on the Executive Committee of TRASA as deputy Chairperson.
In 2005 she was appointed as a Director of East Rand Stereo, a community broadcasting radio station based in Ekurhuleni. In 2006 she was elected as the Deputy Chairperson and in November 2008 she was elected as the Chairperson of the board of Directors.
In August 2008 she was appointed Isett Seta Education Training Quality Assurer (ETQA) Advisor
Julia also served on the Telkom SA Board as a Non-Executive Director from 2009-2012.
Thandi possesses a BCom degree in Economics and International Trade obtained from North West University, (Vaal Triangle Campus)Vanderbijlpark South Africa.
In June 2014 Thandi was employed by HCN as a Financial Manager responsible for providing financial advice to HCN and client support, collection and preparation of accounts, monitoring and predicting future trends, developing financial management systems, managing the company's financial accounting, liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out, keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.From August 2013 to May 2014 Thandi was employed by Renault South Africa as a Finance Intern where she was responsible for preparing journals and stock accruals.
In 2012 she worked at HCN as an Intern responsible for project administration, monitoring and interpreting cash flows,General Ledger processing as well as the preparationof Journals and daily reporting of costs and expenses.She was also responsible for Customer Service and office administration.
